At Perryman Theatre Company, we believe theatre should feel electric, inspiring and bold. Named in honour of Jill Perryman’s legacy and driven by a family passion for exciting new storytelling, we are a company committed to celebrating both the rich history and bright future of Australian theatre here in Naarm/Melbourne. 

 

Founded to fulfil the development season of One Day In September in 2024, Perryman Theatre Company exists to champion artists, develop original work and create unforgettable theatrical experiences. With plans in the works for intimate cabaret-style shows to ambitious new musicals and contemporary productions of well loved texts, our work aims to challenge, entertain and spark conversation. Melbourne is after all the cultural hub of the country.

 

Just as Jill Perryman and her husband Kevan Johnston did, we are passionate about fostering emerging talent alongside established voices, creating a space where artists feel empowered to take risks and tell stories that matter. We are proud to be part of a new generation of Australian creatives that honour tradition whist embracing originality, inclusivity and fearless creativity.
